For over 15 years, LIRN has provided our members with a proxy service for off-campus access. We now offer our advanced proxy platform as a standalone service to help all libraries serve their communities better.
With your membership, your school automatically receives its own dedicated LIRNProxy application. This allows your students to access your online resources wherever they may be — on campus, at home, or studying at the local coffee shop.

Your LIRNProxy integrates with your Learning Management System (LMS) using the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard*. It can also be integrated into a student portal. Your LIRNProxy application can be set up for institution-level access via a single username and password combination.
*If you have another way that you would like to authenticate your students — LDAP, Active Directory (AD), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Google for Education, etc. — please contact us for pricing and additional information.
Resources that you subscribe to through LIRN are automatically set up to work with LIRNProxy, and if you have resources that you purchased either directly from the vendor or through a different consortium, we can add support for those resources for a nominal fee.

We make things simple. LIRNProxy is maintained by LIRN on behalf of our members, so there are no additional IT support requirements for your school. We also manage vendor changes. As vendors update their platforms, add new features, or roll out new products, LIRN manages the updates required to ensure access is available for your students, faculty, and staff. Similarly, when we fix an issue for one member, we fix it for all members, usually before you even notice it.
